HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Rosie’s Gaming Emporium opened its doors in Hampton Tuesday morning.

A grand opening event was held at 11 a.m., then the new business opened for anxious customers ready to check it out. Video from WAVY News 10’s Aesia Toliver shows a long line formed around the building.

The Hampton location in the Power Plant Complex off I-64 features 700 Historical Horse Racing terminals, which were just legalized in Virginia last year. There’s also a restaurant and a cocktail lounge.

This is the company’s fourth location. The other Gaming Emporiums are in Richmond, Vinton and at the Colonial Downs track in New Kent.

The new location in Hampton will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Hampton’s new $40 million gaming venture, owned and operated by the Colonial Downs Group, is projected to create around 200 jobs in Hampton and generate approximately $2 million in annual tax revenues for the city.
